Volunteer Programs
Adult Volunteers (18 yrs. and older) The zoo offers several different volunteer opportunities for those individuals interested in supporting the zoo with their time and skills.
Our docents help promote the zoo's educational programs by presenting programs to visitors and school groups, and performing animal enrichments. Our general volunteers help by maintaining zoo grounds and improving animal environments through projects. Most enjoy both roles. Come to the zoo to fill out an application, or for more information on volunteer programs, call the zoo at 647-4685.
Zoo Intern Program ZIP Ages 14-20 $20.00 per year The zoo hosts the Zoo Intern Program, which offers a wonderful educational opportunity for young men and women ages 14-20 who are interested in careers in the biological/animal sciences. This internship provides academic and hands-on training of exotic mammals, birds and reptiles.
	We learn about animal husbandry, veterinary care, habitat maintenance, behavioral enrichment, and much more! An annual participation fee of $20.00 covers registration, insurance and activities.
